Reznor's one-week take for 'Ghosts': $1.6 million: Admitedly, he’s not one of my favorites or anything close to that, but this new model that he and radiohead have done may be paving the way for how music artists will be doing business in the not so distant future. Plus this is great for someone like me, a non-fan, to get exposed to music that i normally would stay clear of. Who knows; maybe I’ll like this new instrumental stuff of his. So I just downloaded the free version to check it out. One odd downside I see to this model if it catches on; there may be too much free music to check out.

What can you really do? As with anything, be mindful of where your money goes. Avoid Chinese manufactured goods as much as you can, avoid stores like Wallmart that take full advantage of trade with China without concern for the welfare of Chinese workers, the loss of American manufacturing jobs, the global environment, and the totalitarian practices that we are enabling the Chinese government to continue using on its people.
